EarthQuest

"Why is there a trilobite fossil on top of a mountain?"

HamiltonBuhl · VR (Unity; Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Pico, Quest)

Most geology education asks students to memorize facts about rocks. EarthQuest asks them to solve a mystery instead. Middle schoolers become time-traveling scientific investigators, journeying to different periods in Earth's history to gather fossils, rock samples, and geological evidence, then returning to an interdimensional laboratory designed not as a menu but as a place of scientific reasoning — where observations gradually become understanding. The experience deliberately withholds answers until students have accumulated evidence, making deep time, continental drift, erosion, and fossil formation tangible through investigation rather than lecture, all aligned to middle-school science standards. The real objective was never just geology: it was cultivating the habits of scientific thinking itself.
